Yoshida has gone to the official forums for FFXIV and provided some direct answers to some of the burning questions players have about the upcoming patch 2.1 work. Some of this is likely to be brought up during the Letter to the Producer later this week, but this is very targeted answers for some of the hot topics concerning players.
Warrior and Marauder will be seeing large changes coming to 2.1. There has been voiced concern over the strength of the Warrior as a tank, especially end game content like the Binding Coil. There are many advantages that the Paladin holds over the Warrior that the Warrior doesn't make up for in other areas. So they are getting re-balanced to be a better tank.

An official video from Square Enix is currently unavailable, but there are copies of untranslated videos. Many of the questions have been seen or answered in previous threads, so most of the interest in the video is the content unseen or referenced by the questions. The last hour of the video covers mostly the Housing System in a tour of an instanced neighborhood and interiors of the houses. They finally show off what each of the neighborhoods look like in Ul'dah, Limsa Lominsa and Gridania and the different houses. There is a lot of verticality to area climbing stairs up to houses and paths cutting between. Each have a very distinctive appearance.
Also they show off the interiors for each of the three nations. They show a small house and a large house. The small house is a simple room with enough space for sleeping, cooking and relaxing all together. The large house has three floors with one being a basement. The spaces are larger with no walls, but dividers can be put...

While releasing a video about how housing is going to work in the future, the development team also ran a short Q&A about the system and popular questions players had for the soon to be available feature. Many of the answers mention features people wanting would be in later patches like 2.2 or 2.3. There is going to be 40 exterior furniture items and 180 internal furniture at the release of the patch. The housing system is unlocked through rank for the FC. They did not say if the FC will have more ranks adds or if one of the existing ranks will unlock the house system. Features like gardens are coming in 2.2 and chocobo farm after 2.3.

The Final Fantasy XIV development team released a new video today showing off the still in development housing system planned for the 2.1 patch. The video only shows exterior creation, but it gives a good sense of how the system will function from an interactive stand point. The house looks to have slots players can drop components to change the house's appearance. It is likely that larger houses will have more slots. Afterwards, they show furniture placement which is a drag and drop type setup allowing for rotation as well as placement. It looks for the external there is a limit of 20 items, this may be dependent on the plot size.
