The treasure feature added will include both battle classes and gathering classes. Gathering classes will find maps that the battle classes will then use to locate treasure and fight the monsters. There are 5 ranks of maps. Maps can be sold so long as they have not been activated. Rank 5 maps will require a party, so it is important to remember when running it. Locating maps by the gather will be limited to once every 18 hours.

There are a series new quests as well for the beastmen, but since there is an entire different set of features related I broke it out into a separate section. There are story focused quests to learn more about the beastmen and then there are daily quests as well along with materials and item that can be gained.
There is going to be a focus on two beastmen clans per patch the Sylphs and Amalj'aa are the ones for the 2.1 patch.

Due to the high volume of new content or changed content, the notes are being broken up into sections. This will cover all of the new quests added to the game. This is a long list ranging from Story related quests for the Main Campaign and even smaller things like Hildibrand and more.
There are 16 new Main Story quests added, with some of the names hidden to protect for spoilers. There are 3 quests related to the Mog Battle, 6 quests related to the new Extreme Mode Primal battles, 4 quests for Hildibrand, 10 new sidequests (some related to unlocking teleports to housing districts), 2 for Pharos Sirius, 1 each for the Hard Mode dungeons, 5 for the new Crystal Tower, 1 for the Ultima Battle Hard Mode and 1 new Grand Company Quest per company.
Locations and levels required for each are listed below.

Now for anyone keeping up to the minute on the things happening with FFXIV will note that the patch notes are out, but also that they are massive. In the past, I've posted wholesale the notes for FFXI, but I'm going to break them up into smaller pieces that make more sense. It'll also make it easier for discussions as it'll focus things. You can find all of the patch notes in their massive glory right here. FINAL FANTASY XIV, The Lodestone | Patch 2.1 Notes (12/14/2013)

The latest in the previews for Patch 2.1 from Square Enix come as the four new primal battles. Three of the primal battles are simple harder versions of the Hard Mode Ifrit, Titan and Garuda. The new Extreme Mode versions are unlocked after defeating Titan Hard Mode, but the order is different. In the story or Normal Mode versions, Ifrit is the easiest followed by Titan and then Garuda. In the Hard Mode versions Ifrit is the easiest as well, but Garuda follows with Titan as the last. Now the Extreme Mode changes the order again with Garuda as the easiest followed by Titan and then Ifrit finishing as the hardest battle. Each will have an item level requirement, something new added to the Duty Finder to address problems with players too undergeared to compete.
The Extreme Mode battles will also drop an item level 90 weapon for players that complete all three primals in the week. Players will only get a drop once a week and the battles much be win in the week before the reset on...

Looks like Square-Enix released an official trailer for its 2.1 update, titled "A Realm Awoken", which is set to release on December 17th. In addition to a new instance called "The Crystal Tower," the update will include player housing mechanics, a PVP arena, and the Duty Roulette, which will allow you to enter random instanced dungeons or trials daily, granting you enhanced rewards.

For those interested in either having a PS3 copy even though owning a PC version or even prepping for the PS4 down the road, now is a good time to buy the game. Currently, the digital version of the game is available on the PSN store for only $20 and it is only $10 if you are a Plus member. As Square Enix already announced earlier, when the PS4 version of the game launches in April 2014 all PS3 owners will be able to upgrade for free. For those holding out on going straight to the PS4 version, this might be the best chance to get the game for cheap and then sit on it until the PS4 comes out.
