During the Letter from the Producer last week, Yoshida confirmed three more traditional summons from the FF franchise would be making an appearance. He even showed off gear that would drop from the Primal to appear in patch 2.2. So far he has confirmed Leviathan for patch 2.2 and Shiva and Ramuh for patch 2.3. No more additional details are available about the new primals to appear. Yoshida did mention in the video that they would be able to start talking about patch 2.2 details in the January Letter from the Producer to be held in Osaka. So Leviathan might make an appearance there.

Square Enix has released some new information about the upcoming dungeons to be available in patch 2.1. Most of the content is story related text, but there are a couple of important details everyone will want to know before running them or attempting to run them. The three dungeons focused on were the two new Hard Mode dungeons for Copperbell Mines and Haukke Manor, as well as the new dungeon Pharos Sirius. All three of these were require an average item level of 48 or higher and will require the completion of the main story, up through Praetorium. These will also be 4 player dungeons. New gear will also be available.

While showing off new content and changes for the upcoming patch 2.1. Yoshida spent time like with the past Letter from the Producer segments answering player questions.
Due to the volume of questions, I'll summarize the topics and a link can be followed to read the details in their entirety. There were questions about the Dragoon and Lancer. The jump for the Dragoon will be improved giving them the chance to move sooner after completing the jump. Many of the timers will be for abilities will be changed as well as a general 10% boost in damage. There will not be an invincibility during jump. As an aside, Monk's Grease Lightning will be getting increased and the bonus for damage from behind will be increased. The cross skills a Bard can use will be changed.
The concern about the lag and location update is going to be addressed in end game areas. They are not able to do it for everything because of how taxing it would be on the servers, but PvP and post-game content will see this...

The housing feature will add a lot of new options for the player and there are plans for the future of the system as well. Something the players can expect in patch 2.1 with the new houses is a new emote to use. It is the doze emote that will let the characters sleep without logging out, as they normally do when quitting from an inn.

Even before the release of the game officially with the re-launch of FFXIV, Yoshida confirmed plans for patches and plans that would extend out to about a year from the release date. He made it clear new content would be coming soon and patch 2.1 would bring it. However, server congestion and higher traffic than plan delayed all of that as he explained today. One of the concerns voiced on the forums was the lack of new content, promised for patch 2.1 and the long time between the launch and eventual release of 2.1. He explained 2.1 was originally planned a release in late November, but the work needed to improve the servers and player experience from the launch lost them a month of work. So the patch is now coming out in December.
Because of the delay, many asked why the content was not broken up and given out in small bits at a quicker pace. Yoshida explained how things work from the development side of the game and why it was not possible to do what they asked about....

Another popular point for players to voice concern over is the low cap on myth tomes. Currently, it is only possible to earn 300 myth tomes a week. Myth tomes are required for acquiring ilvl90 gear, which is currently the best gear available in game next to the allagan gear available from the Binding Coil. Even a focused player meeting their cap each week would take months to finish all of their gear through this means. The request has been strong to lift the cap or increase the cap.
Yoshida has come into the forums giving an answer to the changes that will be coming for both acquiring tomes in the patch and the raised cap to 450. The biggest change for players will be the significant increase in methods to gain tomes, which currently are left with several end game dungeons and the hard mode primal fights.

In a group of answers, Yoshida also tackled the popular voiced concern players have over the imbalance in item level gear found in dungeon play versus crafting. The highest level achieved through crafting gear is only ilvl70 while the Binding Coil and myth tomes offer ilvl90 gear. There is a significant risk and investment for players to achieve comparable or near-comparable gear with only the ilvl70 gear crafted. Yoshida explained in detail the way they want the system to work for FFXIV and why things are the way they are for crafters and dungeoneers.
