    Please refer our FATE Guide for general information about FATES, how they work and some tips on how to best utilize them.

    This guide includes all FATES found in Shadowbringers (Patch 5.0) for Final Fantasy XIV.

    The expansion still sprinkles FATES evenly throughout all 6 of the new zones. There are noticeably fewer FATES this expansion compared to any of the others. FATES now also drop 12 x Bicolor Gemstones which can be traded for a variety of items from gemstone traders in each zone. There are of course a few new achievements as well as new obtainable items.

    Shared FATES
    Shadowbringers introduces new Shared FATEs, which basically just track the number of completed FATEs within each zone. The more FATES you complete in a zone the higher your rank. Increasing this rank will unlock additional items for sale at local traders. To view your progress in each area, select Shared FATE under Travel in the main menu.
    • Rank 1 - Finish 1 FATE
    • Rank 2 - Finish 6 FATES
    • Rank 3 - Finish 60 FATES


    Shadowbringers FATE Achievements & Obtainable Items
    • A Finale Most Formidable is found in Kholusia (33,26) and drops 6 x Formidable Cog when finishing the FATE at the highest rating possible (Gold). These cogs can be traded in to Fathard in Eulomore for Ironfrog Ambler and the Ironfrog Mover Ignition Key for a mount. Also, by completing the FATE with the higest rating possible (Gold) you will earn the Be Still My (Automatic) Heart achievement.
    • The Head, the Tail, the Whole Damned Thing is found in The Tempest (27,26) and drops 6 x Archaeotania's Horn when finishing the FATE at the highest rating possible (Gold). These horns can be traded in to Fathard in Eulomore for Toad Head, Toad Suit and Tinker Bell Minion. Also, by completing the FATE with the higest rating possible (Gold) you will earn the Another World, Another Turn achievement.
